What PO Means
JennAir's own documentation defines PO as a power-outage indicator: the power supply to the refrigerator was interrupted and the freezer temperature rose to 18°F (-8°C) or higher during that time. The control sounds an alert three times and blinks "Confirm" on the display until acknowledged.
Common Causes of PO
- A genuine home power outage or breaker trip
- The refrigerator being unplugged and replugged (during a move, cleaning, or installation)
- A brief power interruption from the home's electrical supply
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press the button under "Confirm" on the display (JennAir's own documented method, typically the "Measured Fill" button on models that share that control) to acknowledge the outage and clear the display — this is a normal safety notification, not a fault requiring repair.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- There's no repair to attempt here — PO is a notification about a past power interruption, not a sign of a failed component, so opening the unit looking for a fault risks unnecessary damage.
- Because the alert specifically warns that freezer temperature rose to 18°F or higher, it's worth checking frozen food for safety before assuming everything is fine and moving on.
- If PO appears repeatedly without an obvious cause (no known outage, unplugging, or breaker trip), that pattern points to a home electrical issue worth having an electrician check rather than something inside the refrigerator.
