What E:22 Means
E:22 is the friendliest entry in this service table: the appliance reaches the end of the program, the internal check reports residual water in the pump sump because the filters are dirty, and the listed measure is simply to clean the filters.
Common Causes of E:22
- A filter clogged with food debris and grease
- A fine mesh blinded by a film that rinsing alone does not shift
- A filter refitted loosely after a previous clean
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Take out the lower filter assembly, rinse it thoroughly under a running tap including the fine mesh, clear anything sitting in the sump beneath it, and refit it so it locks properly rather than merely sitting in place.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- There is often broken glass in a sump that has been neglected, so it pays to look before reaching in.
- A filter cap forced back into place cracks its plastic threads, and a cracked filter lets debris through to the pump - which is the expensive version of this problem.
- If the filters are genuinely clean and water still stands, the drain path beyond them is implicated, and that is a different job.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
