What E:18 Means
The service table gives E:18 as a filling problem where the appliance waits for supply and then stops the program with draining. The internal check result is a water supply rate too low, or no water supply at all, and the listed measure is simply to check the water supply.
Common Causes of E:18
- A supply valve partly closed or seized
- A kinked, crushed or blocked fill hose
- A blocked inlet filter screen restricting flow
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the shutoff valve behind or below the dishwasher is fully open, and look along the fill hose for a kink or a crushed section - the table puts the whole cause outside the machine, so that is where to start.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the valve is open and the hose is clear, the restriction is inside the inlet, and that sits in the pressurised line where a careless disconnection floods the cabinet.
- A fill hose that has been kinked for a long time keeps the reduced bore even after it is straightened out.
- Isolating valves that have not been turned for years often will not reseal afterwards, so the one behind a dishwasher is worth treating carefully rather than wrenching.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
