What E:11 Means
The service table shows E:11 as a heating problem with the appliance operating without heater, and gives two possible internal check results: NTC resistance values outside the permitted range, or a wire or plug interrupted. The remedies listed are to measure the NTCs and to check the wires and plugs.
Common Causes of E:11
- An NTC temperature sensor whose resistance has drifted out of range
- A broken wire or unseated plug in the sensor circuit
- Scale build-up affecting a sensor's response
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Reset power for a minute and run a cycle, noting whether it takes longer than it used to - a machine waiting on a temperature reading it does not trust tends to stretch its cycle before giving up on heating.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The table names both the sensors and the wiring, so the difference between a cheap plug reseat and a part replacement is only settled by measurement.
- NTC sensors sit in the wet side of the machine where their plugs corrode, and corrosion that looks cosmetic changes the reading enough to matter.
- Getting to the sensors means working under the tub with the machine drawn out, over a supply tail that splits where it has been bent before.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
