What F6E0 Means
JennAir's F6E0 cooktop page states there has been a loss of communication between the user interface, or keypad, and the user interface control. Note the pairing: this is the keypad and its own control losing contact, not the keypad and the power board.
Common Causes of F6E0
- A ribbon or harness between keypad and interface control that has worked loose
- A failure on the user interface control
- A keypad that has stopped responding to its control
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cut power at the breaker for a full minute before restoring it, which is the only step JennAir offers here, and watch whether the display comes up at all when power returns.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Reseating a ribbon without creasing it takes a light hand and the right release technique, and a creased ribbon is a new problem rather than a fixed one.
- Once the control assembly is loose it hangs on that same ribbon tail unless somebody supports it, and that weight is what tears the contacts off the end.
- Telling a loose connection from a failed control needs continuity checks rather than a visual inspection, on a cooktop that has been fully isolated.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
