What F6 E6 Means
F6 E6 is JennAir's upper-cavity communication code: the page names the Upper Oven Appliance Manager Control or the associated wiring. On a double wall oven it tells you which of the two appliance managers has stopped answering.
Common Causes of F6 E6
- An upper cavity appliance manager that has stopped communicating
- A harness problem on the upper board's data run
- A connector disturbed during earlier work behind the oven
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Reset the whole appliance at the breaker for a minute - both cavities share one supply - then watch which cavity the code follows when power comes back.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- On a double oven the upper and lower boards look alike and sit close together, so fitting a replacement to the wrong one is an easy and costly mistake.
- Reaching the upper board means the whole double oven comes out of the cabinet, not just the top half, because the two are built as one chassis.
- The data harness runs beside the cavity insulation, where a wire pinched on reassembly reproduces the same code weeks later with nobody remembering why.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
