What F3 E2 Means
JennAir's own wall oven documentation describes F3 E2 as a problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring — the same category of fault as a range's F1/F3, documented separately here because JennAir's wall oven and range product-help sections use their own distinct code tables.
Common Causes of F3 E2
- Failed or drifting oven temperature sensor (RTD probe)
- Damaged or disconnected sensor wiring
- Control board failing to read the sensor signal correctly
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Power the oven down at the breaker for a full minute, restore power, and monitor the display for a minute before running a cycle, per JennAir's own reset guidance.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Confirming whether the sensor, wiring, or control board is at fault needs multimeter testing on a fully de-energized oven, not a visual check.
- The sensor sits inside the cavity near the broil element, and removing it carelessly can damage the surrounding cavity insulation.
- This fault is easily confused with a bad heating element, and replacing the wrong part first is a common, expensive mistake.
- A sensor reinstalled even slightly out of its original position can keep reading inaccurately even with a new part fitted.
- The sensor and its wiring sit behind a rear panel near the oven's power supply, and removing that panel can affect your remaining warranty coverage — check your terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
