What E:15 Means
The service table lists E:15 as a filling problem where the program stops with intermittent pumping, and gives the internal check result as the base carrier safety switch active, adding that the appliance cannot be switched off. The listed measure is to search for the cause of water in the base carrier.
Common Causes of E:15
- A leak from a hose, seal or pump reaching the base carrier
- A failed seal at the circulation pump or heat pump
- A condensation build-up that has accumulated over time
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher at its shutoff valve. The table describes water already in the base of the machine and a safety switch holding the appliance on so it keeps pumping - that is containment working, and it needs a technician rather than a reset.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The appliance deliberately refuses to switch off because pumping is what keeps the water off the floor, so overriding that by cutting power is the wrong instinct.
- Water under a built-in dishwasher travels along the floor beneath neighboring cabinets and does its damage out of sight.
- Finding where water entered the base means the machine comes out and the underside is examined, over a supply tail and drain hose that both suffer from being moved.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
