What E:06 Means

The service table describes E:06 as a door Hall sensor problem: the appliance stops in its current position and is left without function. The internal check reports either the wire to the Hall sensor interrupted or the power module defective, or else the Hall sensor itself defective.

Common Causes of E:06

  • A broken wire in the run to the door Hall sensor
  • A failed Hall sensor at the door
  • A power module no longer reading the sensor

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Open and close the door firmly, then disconnect power for a minute and restore it. A machine that stops dead mid-cycle and will not respond is behaving exactly as the table describes, so expect this one to need a visit.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • The table's own remedy sequence is to check the wiring and supply voltage at the sensor first and only then replace it, which is measurement work rather than substitution.
  • The sensor wiring runs through the door hinge area, where it flexes every time the door moves and breaks inside intact-looking insulation.
  • A machine stopped mid-cycle usually has water in it, so anything dismantled has to account for that before the first screw comes out.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

FAQ

E:06 FAQ

It tells the control whether the door is closed. Without that signal the machine will not run, which is why the table describes the appliance as being without function.

Yes. The sensor is magnetic rather than mechanical, so nothing about the door's feel tells you whether it is working.
