What E:21 Means
The service table lists E:21 under circulation pump problem, reaching the end of the program, with the internal check result given as the heat pump blocked. The remedy listed is to check the heat pump for foreign objects and replace it if required.
Common Causes of E:21
- A foreign object jammed in the circulation pump
- Glass or hard debris that has passed a damaged filter
- A pump seized after long disuse
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Take out the lower filter assembly and look for glass fragments, fruit stones, bones or a stray bottle cap sitting in the sump - foreign objects are exactly what the service table says to look for.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Broken glass in a pump sump is the classic hidden injury in dishwasher work, and it does not announce itself before your fingers find it.
- Trying to free a jammed impeller by force shears the coupling, which turns a clear-out into a pump replacement.
- If debris got past the filter, the filter itself is damaged, and fitting a new pump without addressing that guarantees a second failure.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
