What F1E0 Means
JennAir's F1E0 cooktop page says this is indicating that one or more keys are permanently pressed, and notes that lights may flash and tones may sound alongside it. Where F0 blames something sitting on the panel, F1E0 is the control reporting the key state itself as stuck.
Common Causes of F1E0
- Residue or moisture holding a key in its pressed state
- A worn touch area that no longer returns to its resting reading
- A touch control module reporting a key incorrectly
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Confirm every control is off and the glass is cold, then clean the touch area thoroughly - JennAir's own step - and give the surface time to dry completely before restoring power, since trapped moisture keeps a key reading as pressed.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Cleaning around a live control strip puts hands over powered touch circuitry, so the breaker comes off before the cloth comes out.
- A key that stays stuck after a thorough clean points inside the module, and the touch sensors there sit at a fixed spacing behind the glass that is rarely restored exactly once it has been apart.
- Prying at a key position that feels unresponsive damages the printed layer, turning a cleaning job into a control replacement.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
