What F1-H Means
F1-H is one of the letter-suffixed members of JennAir's hyphenated range code family, and its product-help page places it with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or their shared wiring - the same description JennAir gives F1-1, F1-2 and F1-L.
Common Causes of F1-H
- An oven temperature sensor reading outside the range the control will accept
- A sensor lead that has chafed through against the cavity wall
- A control that can no longer interpret the sensor signal
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the range off at the breaker for a minute and back on, then leave it idle for a minute before starting a cycle, so you can see whether the code returns on its own or only under load.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A sensor that is merely drifting and one that has failed outright produce the same code, and only a resistance check on a dead range separates them.
- Reaching the sensor means pulling the range out past its anti-tip bracket, and that bracket has to be re-engaged when it goes back or a loaded door can tip the whole appliance.
- Replacing the sensor when the problem was actually in the lead leaves you with the same code and a spare part you cannot return.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
