Common Causes of F7 E0
- Failed door latch motor or solenoid

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Leave the door alone rather than forcing it, power down at the breaker for a minute, and allow the oven to cool fully before checking whether the code clears on its own.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If this trips during or after a self-clean cycle, the cavity can still be scalding hot, making a forced door opening a real burn risk.
- The latch wiring runs close to the range's high-voltage supply, so testing it without isolating power first is a shock hazard.
- F7 E0 and F5 can look identical from the outside but point to different specific failures in the latch circuit, so guessing at a part to replace is a common, costly mistake.
- A latch mechanism forced back into place after jamming can bend the strike plate, causing chronic latch problems afterward.
- The latch assembly sits behind the inner door panel, so the door comes off its hinges first, and those hinges are spring-loaded hard enough to snap shut on a hand still holding them.
