Downdraft ventilation is the one piece of JennAir engineering that has no equivalent on a standard range, and it’s also the piece owners tend to forget about — until grease buildup in the ductwork or a sluggish damper leaves smoke hanging over the cooktop instead of pulling down and out. We inspect the blower, damper, and duct run on downdraft ranges and cooktops, check oven and range igniters for weak or delayed ignition, and go through refrigeration door seals, dishwasher filters and spray arms, and microwave door latches.
