Common Causes of F3 E4

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If your model uses a meat probe, check your Owner's Manual for its receptacle location and confirm the probe is fully and securely inserted; on models with a power attachment, extend the rack, verify the attachment is correctly positioned, then push the rack firmly back in until you hear a tone — this is JennAir's own first step before treating it as a fault.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If reseating the probe or attachment doesn't clear the code, the receptacle contacts themselves may need testing, which means working inside a cavity that reaches very high temperatures during normal use.
- Forcing a power attachment into place when it isn't aligned correctly can bend the rack guides or damage the attachment's electrical contacts.
- This fault is specific to JennAir's meat-probe/power-attachment feature, so it's easy to misdiagnose as a general temperature sensor fault and replace the wrong part.
- The receptacle wiring runs into the cavity wall alongside the oven's heating circuit, so probing it without confirming the oven is de-energized is a shock risk.
