What F25 Means
JennAir's F25 page says there is a problem with power supply to the cooktop, and unusually the page itself advises contacting a qualified electrician if the issue recurs. That advice is JennAir's own, and it tells you where the brand expects the problem to be.
Common Causes of F25
- A loose or failing connection at the breaker or the cooktop junction box
- One leg of a two-pole supply lost or intermittent
- Undersized or damaged supply wiring in the circuit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the breaker serving the cooktop has not partially tripped, then leave it there - JennAir's page sends recurring cases to an electrician rather than to appliance troubleshooting.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A cooktop losing one leg of its supply can still light its display while heating nothing, which is exactly the situation that gets misread as an appliance problem.
- Terminations at the junction box behind a built-in cooktop are live conductors in a confined space, and correcting them is licensed work in most places.
- An intermittent supply connection generates heat at the loose point, so the longer it runs, the more there is to repair beyond the cooktop itself.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
